The Effectiveness of Skills Training to Adjust the Sources of Self-Development on Decreasing the Marriage Conflicts among Women

Abstract

Purpose: The aim of the present research was to examine the rate of effectiveness of the skills training to adjust the sources of self-development on decreasing the marriage conflicts among the women.
Methods: The Semi experimental method was used, following the pretest-post-test with the control group by using randomized, multi-stage sampling method. The subjects were included all the married women who residing in the east of Tehran; to be selected: 28 subjects to be involved in the study and to be divided randomizing in two groups (experimental & control). The marriage conflicts questionnaire was used. The subjects of experimental group attended 8 sessions (each session 120 minutes) learning the skills of regulation the sources of self-development, while the control group did not receive any intervention. The covariance analysis method was used to analyze the data.
Findings: The findings indicated significant difference between experimental and control group in order to decreasing marriage conflicts.
Conclusion: The skills training of regulation the sources of self-development are effective to decrease the marriage conflicts among women. It can be used in couple therapy strategies by family counselors.
