Abstract

Background: High blood pressure is one of the most important public health issues facing the world today. One of the areas that are affected in people with high blood pressure is marital life. Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating role of attachment style in the relationship between work-family conflict and depression with marital burnout in people with hypertension. Method: The present research is applied in terms of purpose and correlation-based method based on structural equation modeling. The statistical population of this study was all people with hypertension who referred to hospitals in Qom in 2021. The sample size was determined to model the structural equations of 230 people, and finally, by removing incomplete questionnaires, 214 questionnaires were analyzed. In this study, sampling method was available. Data were collected using the Work-Family Conflict Questionnaire Carlson et al., 2000, the Attachment Styles Questionnaire Hazan & Shaver, 1987, the Couple Burnout Scale Pines, 1996 , and the Depression Inventory Beck et al., 1996. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling and SPSS and Amos software. Findings: The results showed that there is a significant correlation between the variables of couple burnout, work-family conflict and attachment style. Conclusion: The path analysis modeling model also showed the mediating role of attachment style in the relationship between work-family conflict and depression with couple burnout.
