The Test of the Model of Disconnection and Rejection Domain of Early Maladaptive Schemas and Marital Satisfaction with Mediating Unsecure Attachment Style, and Depression

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of current study was to test the model of Disconnection and Rejection Domain of Early Maladaptive Schemas and Marital Satisfaction with Mediating Unsecure Attachment Style, and Depression Among staff of government departments at Ahvaz City. Method: 300 people (men=150, women=150) were selected using multistage random sampling method in staff of government departments at Ahvaz City. Participants completed measures of Young Schema Questionnaire (YSQ), Behavioral Systems Questionnaire, Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-13) and marital satisfaction and model evaluation was made by pathanalysis method and AMOS/16. Finding: The results showed that there are a significant positive correlation between Disconnection and Rejection Domain and Unsecure Attachment Style and depression, there are a significant negative correlation between Unsecure Attachment Style anddepression and marital satisfaction, but there were no relationship between Disconnection and Rejection Domain and marital satisfaction. In addition to, there are significant relationship between Disconnection and Rejection Domain and marital satisfaction with Mediating Unsecure Attachment Style and depression. Conclusion: Regarding results of present study can conclude that unsecure attachment style and depression can mediate the relationship between disconnection and rejection domain and marital satisfaction
