The relationship between life skills and marital conflicts, and mental health in the couples referred to consultation centers at Kermanshah police stations

Abstract

Introduction: this study attempted to investigate the relationship between life skills and marital conflicts, and mental health (stress, anxiety, and depression) in the couples referred toconsultation centers at Kermanshah police stations  
Methods: the current study's statistical community was composed of all individuals referred to Kermanshah consultation centers in order to resolve their family issues. Among them, 180 were selected by the available sampling in order to collect data, questionnaires including life skills, marital conflicts, depression, anxiety, stress (DASS) were used. The correlation study design was applied. For data analysis, average statistical indices, standard deviation, correlation and regression analysis were used.
Results: data analysis indicated that there are a negative significant correlation between self-awareness, human relationship and inter-personal relationship, depression and anxiety, and there is a positive significant correlation between marital conflicts and depression, anxiety and stress.
Conclusion: it could be concluded that life skills play effective roles in mental health, and marital conflicts exacerbate couples’ stress, anxiety and depression.
