Efficacy of Couples Communication Skills Group Training using Interaction Analysis Approach (TA) on Reducing Marital Conflicts

Abstract

Purpose: The main aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of communication skills training of couples who use the method of interaction analysis (TA) on the reducing marital conflicts.
Methods: This study is Practical and is an experimental type (a pretest - posttest with control group). The population consisted of couples that Because of that conflict by the Family Court have been sent to Intervention and family counseling centers in the Urmia city in 1390. Using simple random sampling, 30 couples were selected as samples of the population and by using of randomized replacement in the two groups of experimental and control groups (each group containing 15 pairs) have set and then Conflicts Questionnaires as a pretest was carried on each in the two groups of experimental and control. The test group for 10 sessions of 90 minutes in one session a week, Communication skills has taught by interactive analysis (TA). While the control group received no training. One week after the training session, once again questionnaire Conflicts as a posttest were performed on both groups 
Findings: Results indicated that teaching communication skills using interaction analysis statistically significant have an effect on reducing marital conflict and its components.
Conclusion: Can generally conclude couples' communication skills using interactive analysis (TA) as a group to reduce the impact of marital conflict and reduce conflicts between the couples.
