The Effectiveness of Enhancement Program on Marital Adjustment

Abstract

Purpose: Marital adjustment as the state in which there is an over all feeling in husband and wife of happiness and satisfaction with their marriage and with each other. The aim of this study was to investigate the effectivenessof relationship enhancement Program on marital adjustment.
Methods: The research procedure was quasi-experimental with pretest- posttest and control group design. The population of the study was volunteer couples in Bardaskan city. consisting sample group of 12 couples(6 couples in the control group and 6 in the experimental group). randomly assigned into experimental and control group. The experimental group participated in 6 sessions of Relationship Enhancement Program, while the control group did not receive any treatment. "Spaier dyadic adjustment,1976" used as pretest, posttest and follow up measure.
Findings:Results of ANCOVA(analysis of covariance) revealed significant difference between groups in dyadic satisfaction, dyadic cohesion and dyadic consensus, but no significant difference between groups in flectional expression.
Conclusion: The findings can be used in therapeutic and clinical intervention increase the couple adjustment.
